In many parts of southern India, families live in fragile banana-leaf huts that leak when it rains, turning their dirt floors into mud.
The 2004 Tsunami and Cyclone Ockhi in 2017 devastated the region, wiping out entire villages and leaving countless families without shelter. Years later, many still live in makeshift huts, exposed to the elements, without even the most basic amenities.
